Just like Daddy!
Laurie noticed a pic I had posted reminded her of one has from many MANY (hehe) years ago. Guess who this is?
All Aboard!
Abby is REALLY into trains. Toys, TV, real life – you name it… she loves them! So we decided it would be fun to take her on the Metrolink. We drove to Shrewsbury and bought our tickets.
We waited on the platform for just a minute before the train showed up.
Abby walked right on – And picked a seat.
Jamey sat with Abby and Hannah and I sat across from them. Every stop when someone new got on the train, Abby would yell, “All Aboard”. I thought more people would find this humorous… but they didn’t :/
We rode the train across the river to Fairview. Abby loved seeing the Arch… and J and I thought it was pretty cool to look down and only see the Mississippi!
On the way back I sat with Abby (Hannah was snoozing).
We stopped at Union Station to walk around and grab some lunch.
The first thing we noticed was the fantastic singing coming from The Fudgery!
Abby clapped along!
Everyone loves a free sample!
We stumbled into the attached hotel – Hyatt maybe? It was beautiful!
We forced Abby to sit by the fountain and take a picture… She did NOT want to do this at all!
But she WAS interested in throwing Jamey’s change into the water ![]()
We took a quick ride on the escalator.
And then had our lunch.
Then, after a long fun filled day – it was time to head home.
Santa’s coming Mommy!! Santa’s coming!!!
Holy Cow! It has already started!! The leaves are no longer on the trees – and Abby is asking for snow! This morning she told me that Santa was coming because she needed more toys. Uh huh.
Anyway, we went to the mall with Kelly and Maddie & Caden today. I told Abby if the man in red was there – we’d say Hi. Well, we turned the corner and BAM! “Santa Mommy Santa! There he is! It is Christmas time! There are the Christmas Decorations.” She was so excited! She walked right up to him and let him pick her up. Then. Silence. He couldn’t pry a word out of her. She wasn’t afraid in any way that I could tell. Maybe overwhelmed? Awe struck? Hard to say. But whatever happened… it was the quietest she had been all day! I decided to unwrap Hannah and get a picture since there was no line. Hannah went ahead and broke Abby’s silence. She was terrified! Now, before you give me a hard time… If I had thought that she would remember this and it would ruin her for life… I wouldn’t have made her sit there. But it was just too funny to have a near comatose Abby (although she sorta smiled for the pic) and a screaming Hannah… I had to get the pic. Also, silly binky in the pic! I took it off of her… but then we thought she might stop crying with it… then I forgot to take it back off! And here it is!
West Co. Mall Santa Review: He looked quite authentic! Real beard, nice suit, real boots. He also held both girls confidently and securely. He was a very nice man – not creepy in any way. My only but is… I didn’t think he was a very enthusiastic smiley Santa. Abby didn’t really talk… and he didn’t really have many tricks to get her to talk. I didn’t feel like he was as comfortable talking to her as he appeared he would be? Does that make sense? He said something about a baby doll… she nodded – and about cookies… then Abby wanted cookies… And that was about it.
The Bread Pudding
I seriously can’t stop making it. It is delicious!!!! Sourdough bread, sugar, butter, vanilla, eggs, heavy whipping cream… and even a little Jack in the sauce. Mmmm mmm!!
Thanks to Pioneer Woman for the recipe! And my apologies to Jonathan
I asked him for some guidance on my food pics. He sent me a great article he wrote trying to help me. I’m trying!! I promise to improve!
She’s eating puffs!
Finally! She is picking them up and *usually* getting them in her mouth!
A give and take realationship.
Abby is really good with Hannah. She is really trying to help out as much as possible. I stepped away from the table for a minute… and came back to see this!

Bath time!
The girls take baths together – but Hannah is usually laying down on a little cot. Hannah has been sitting up on the ground quite well for a few weeks now. So I decided it was time to let her try holding her own in the tub with Abby… sitting up! She did it! Abby splashed her and Hannah tried her hand at splashing as well. It was so fun and cute to watch! I did video a bit for you and I’ll try to post that soon. They are really starting to enjoy each other! It is going to be so fun watching them grow up together!
Thanks Grandma Feger!
Grandma Feger likes to shop. While it might be a problem for her bank account, it isn’t a problem for us… it seems to benefit us quite well:) Hannah is almost 8 months – but she is still wearing 3-6 month clothes. I’m afraid though, that she will have a growth spurt soon and really need the 6-9 month clothes. Still with me? Anyway, Grandma F can’t seem to walk into a store without buying some outfits for her favorite granddaughters. So about a month ago she and I decided that maybe the best bet was the one piece 6-9 month outfits. At least they wouldn’t fall off of her – even if they were still a little big
They seem to be working out okay. And she is growing. I’m still torn myself. I buy some 3-6 and some 6-9. Sigh… good luck if you are thinking clothes for Christmas… I suppose I’d go with the 6-9.
This is one of the cute outfits from Grandma
Who REALLY does the work??
So, basically Daddy, when the guys come in tomorrow…just tell them that this here needs to be routed around Houston and to point B over here. Got it? Yeah, I think that ought to do it!
