So I’ve really been working with Hannah on saying “More” instead of that high pitch scream she does. If you ever been on the phone with me during a meal – you understand. So lately she’s starting eating pancake and acts like it is the very last pancake on earth. This is a video I’ve been trying to catch for a while of her successfully getting out the word “more” and snatching the pancake like bears were trying to get it first. Seriously – watch how fast that little arm snaps out to grab the pancake almost as soon as it touches the tray. Hehe! Take a look! Have a laugh :)

Snow Day!

Well, it isn’t much yet. But they say more is coming. I decided to head out a shovel a bit while Hannah took her morning nap. Of course little Miss Abby decided to join me :) BTW, Jamey just happened to have an “unexpected” meeting out of town all week. He found out yesterday (approximately 5 hours before the snow started falling). I’m thinking this smells a little fishy!

Here’s Abby playing in the little bit of snow that we have :) Enjoy!

We are doing our best to get Hannah off of baby food. The girl needs some weight! So… for breakfast today she ate a pancake, a scrambled egg (with cheese), and several peaches! Holy cow! She also nursed an hour before all that! One hungry little girl!

Great Grandma Alexander makes Raggedy Anns for first birthdays. Abby got hers nearly 2 years ago.

One day Grandma and I were chatting about dolls and she said that she would give me a copy of her pattern since it is no longer in print. EXCELLENT I thought! This Christmas, when I opened my presents, there it was! She even made it a little envelope like all other patterns.

Now, I hadn’t actually opened the pattern to look at it until this week! I decided to make Marlei a Raggedy Ann for her second birthday. WOW! Was I blown away! Grandma copied everything for me and even made the pattern pieces on tissue paper! It was awesome!

Making Raggedy Ann was a bit tougher or maybe more time consuming than I expected. Her arms were mighty tiny to stuff. Her legs are really three pieces… and sewing that black shoe on wasn’t the easiest thing I’d ever done. The hair ended up super cute – possibly the part that was the most rewarding but it was time consuming as well. I think the embroidery turned out okay. I need to learn to do the eyes a bit better. The dress was pretty straight forward but then the apron came back to bite me :)

All in all a very rewarding project. I can’t wait to make another now that I have one under my belt!

And here she is!

Our Girls. Hannah is very close to walking. She is cruising around everything. She is also finally starting to talk. Abby had soo many words by 10 months – Hannah is quite the opposite. Hannah is also getting her first tooth! She woke me up to tell me about it last night at 11:30 p, 2:30 a, and 6 a. Thanks Hannah.

Abby is doing well too. She is really helping out with Hannah. We are starting to see a little jealousy with toys and such now that Hannah can just go get whatever she wants. Abby would prefer to give Hannah whatever she chooses. Abby also picked up her first bug! Every night before bed she makes us check her room for ladybugs (Asian beetles). Sunday night we finally convinced her to pick it up herself and throw it away. I was so proud! We may have to raise her in the city… but hopefully I can still get a little country in her! ;) Oh! One more thing! Potty training is great! It was just like a switch. One day she wasn’t – One day she was. We started a little before Christmas and we’ve had a couple accidents – but none since Christmas and NONE in public or in the car! Woo Hoo! She is even wearing big girl pants at nap time. We’ll go for bedtime as soon as I decide I’m ready to wake up when she does ;)

The scene: Abby was upstairs on the potty. Hannah was downstairs. I grabbed Hannah to go upstairs and get ready for naps. I walk into the bathroom to check on Abby and I see this:

The conversation goes something like this:

Me: What’s on your face??
Abby: without hesitation Nothing.
Me: silent pause
Abby: My chap stick is red.

So I ran to get the camera so I could get a picture of this:

However, I left Hannah upstairs with the artist so when I got back… I also got a picture of this! Fortunately she just use lotion on Hannah. :)

Great Grandma Mifflin sent us home with some fantastic stuff! It was close to Christmas so I was keeping it in the box until later. However, Abby found it all in the basement today. So, here it goes! Take a look!

What could be more patriotic than flashing American Flags and Curious George (pjs from Gma Feger)?

The girls also got some great costumes from Great Grandma Mifflin.

Thanks for all of the great gift Grandma!!

Abby was invited to Brooke’s 4th Birthday! It was our first experience at a party with 13 little kids!! It was at McDonald’s. She was such a big girl (most of the time). She walked right in the room and put on her party hat. They colored and played with tops. They had ice cream and and a beautiful Dora, strawberry cake that Brooke’s mom Kris made. To wrap it up they all watched Brooke open her presents and then had a fun time in the playland. This is when the “not so big girl” part happened. I pretty much had to drag her out by her feet. It was so embarrassing :( But, I guess it is what I expected. We were well past nap time and she was loaded with sugar. All in all it was a fun time! Happy 4th Birthday Brooke!!

Jenn and Emily came back again! It was a last minute surprise and we had so much fun!

We all danced with Pablo in the kitchen.

The girls took a ride on the train.

And for one very brief moment they stopped to rest and look out the window :)

Thanks for coming to visit!!

Well, it is a shame that I didn’t have our camera here. I really feel like they turned out just beautiful this year!! (pic taken with J’s iPhone)
