Leaving On A Jet Plane

Well, this is as normal as its going to get — for a while anyway. We woke up really early this morning to get Jamey disconnected and get his cycler packed. Then we drove through a tiny blizzard with the rest of Denver at rush hour to get him to the airport. The girls and I went with him so I could load/unload all of his supplies. He isn’t allowed to lift over 25 lbs. The supplies he needs for one day are over 25 lbs. His cycler in the suitcase is probably close to 35-40 lbs. I was pretty anxious for him to go – but I think he was pretty excited. Traveling is his normal and while it drives him crazy some weeks, I’m pretty sure he’s missed it.

This is what he needs to stay healthy for four days. Two boxes are supplies (tape, syringes, gauze, masks, cassettes…). Four boxes are Dialysate. 100 lbs of Dialysate in case you were counting. The suitcase is his cycler (dialysis machine).

He also had his backpack and his suitcase of clothes. He was flying on the corporate jet so rest assured he had friends with him to help him load/unload on the other end.

Once he was on his way the girls and I got busy with our day. No school today AND it snowed! Woo Hoo! The girls built a small snowman while I finished up some work.

Miley (of course) played ball.

Then we made some cookies!

Super good day for all of us I believe.

P.S. I talked to Jamey this evening. He is unpacked and connected to the cycler in his hotel room without a problem. Nice work J!

To be honest i would be terrified to have to deal with all that while traveling. But my brother has always been the bravest man I’ve ever known. And he has a pretty amazing super strong wife keeping him brave and positive. So happy you all are getting to do your normal thing, albeit a little bit altered. Love you guys

That is awesome to hear. Gotta love a corporate jet. Now if they could just have you on it and make a wrong turn to STL please. 🙂

Awwww. I’m so happy that he is getting back to a little more tolerable life style. That is fantastic. Glad that he was able to travel on the corp. jet, especially for his first trip back. All good things.
