HHI Day 4 (Monday)

Monday already?? Time is flying by! We had tons of adventures today! Let’s get going!

We geared up and headed down to Harbor Town for our first adventure!

We were going on a Pirate Cruise!

It was an hour and a half cruise. We met at the dock and the girls got all pirated up! They supplied vests for them to wear and face paint. Abby and Hannah both chose a starfish on their hand. They also were given pirate names! Daddy bought them hats and swords!

Another pirate on the dock was catching crabs!

Aaarrrggggg Matey!

“Skinny” the Captain of the Black Dagger was teaching the crew some pirate words. And then a sword fight!

This kids face paint was fantastic!

Getting ready to board our ship!

This was our pirate leader!

Once we were on the ship, the kids all went to the front. The parents sat in a small set of bleachers in the back. We had a canopy, a cruise and babysitters up front! Who could ask for more?!?!

We headed out into the harbor!

Dolphins!!

Our first mission was to raise our pirate flag!

Our next mission was to find THE treasure! But first we needed the map! And someone misplaced the map!!

Captain Hook Hannah might have been the youngest pirate on the ship — but she held her own and participated really well!

We found some treasure!!

Hannah was so excited she came to tell us about the treasure!

The treasure wasn’t THE treasure — just something that Stinky Pete must have tossed overboard!

Wow! It was Stinky Pete’s grog! Let’s have a drink!

Wait! What?? Is that… It is!! Stinky Pete!! Man (Woman) the water cannons!

Stinky Pete really earned his paycheck! He was great! The kids really enjoyed blasting him! AND, he was getting blasted with saltwater! Yucko!

Right about this time Hannah decided that Stinky Pete was a little scary :(

Man overboard!! Good work team!

Let’s celebrate! Time for a dance! “You put the lime in the coconut…”

Ahoy!! I see THE treasure!!!

Treasure got Hannah’s attention! She went back to join her crew!

The crew had a moment to learn treasure etiquette :)

Hannah got some treasure!

And Abby too!

Hannah showing us her ring!

Can you believe Abby got a blue one?!?

A couple group photos and we headed back! Mission accomplished!

Walking by the shops back to our bikes.

We took our two tired pirates and headed back to the house. Yes! I did ride my bike with two swords in the basket. Others on the bike path feared me! :P

We all had lunch at home today. Then we had some quite time while we watched a couple programs on the couch. Hannah fell asleep. We needed a few more groceries, so we just put Hannah in the car asleep. Abby and I ran into the grocery store while Jamey stayed with Hannah in the car. It was also quite convenient that a Starbucks was right next door to the Publix :)

On the way back to Sea Pines we checked out the horse stables. We learned that there was a free petting zoo and $10 pony rides. We went ahead and put that on our todo list!

It was super time and we decided to just walk across the street to the Beach Club. We had a nice shaded table. Great food and Fantastic entertainment!! I had fish tacos for the first time ever and Jamey had the Mahi Mahi.

We walked back to our house after supper and we had a visitor. A BIG visitor!!  A BIG GREEN MAN EATING VISITOR!!!

This is us standing in our back yard. For some reason I was a bit afraid to turn my back to him. I don’t know if I thought he was going to slink off into the water and come over and get me or what… but it was a really uneasy feeling. I was quite excited to see him. He was one of the bigger ones we noticed!

This is where I first spotted him when we got back from supper. This is on our front deck in the courtyard. I felt pretty safe here. However, the back deck was much much closer to him :)

For some reason I decided you all might want to see that we had a little shade in the courtyard.

And another visitor just drying off in the evening sunshine. Notice the sign? Who on earth would think that feeding the large alligator was a good idea??

And to wrap up this day we headed back to the beach! We didn’t always take our good camera with us. We were a bit afraid of the sand. So while the pics might now be as awesome – I think you can see see the sheer joy in the girls faces :)

On more than one occasion people stopped me to tell me my 3 year old was part fish!

Kindof like surfing.

Waiting for a wave…

When we weren’t in the water we were digging big holes in the sand.

Jamey often worries that they will get sand in their suits. I don’t really think it phases them :P

We had a great monday! After the beach we all walked home, got cleaned up and went straight to bed.

One Response to “HHI Day 4 (Monday)”

  1. What a fantastic day!!! The pirate crews was great! How neat that you got to enjoy the cruise while the ‘pirates’ entertained the children! You all looked like you had a great time at the beach. How were the fish tacos? I’ve always wondered if I would like them.
