A month or so before Halloween Abby said she wanted to be a blue princess. I asked her if she meant Cinderella and she said yes! Hannah said she wanted to be a pink princess. I thought about buying a costume – but if you know me – I like to be busy/stressed every second of my life. I decided to make the dresses :) I was very pleased with how they turned out!

Chris, Kelly, Maddie and Caden came out to spend the evening with us. We had some chili and cupcakes and then dressed the kids.

Here we go!

Luigi came running to our door!

I thought it was neat to be on the outside and see kids at our house :)

The guys held down the fort while Kelly and I took the kids door to door.

The first house.

We did all of the houses at both ends of our street. The buckets were getting pretty full so I asked Abby how it was looking.

Caden was pretty excited too!

Maddie and Hannah weren’t far behind!

THIS is the ghost that Abby and Hannah keep telling everyone about.

This man is one of our neighbors. He was sitting in the chair looking all dead-like when we walked up. I wanted to ask him not to scare the girls – but he (and his wife) are deaf. I was in a dead panic!! ‘No fear Hannah’ just walked right up to him and said, “Dog.” Their dogs were going crazy inside the house. He smiled at her and she acted like he looked just as normal as everyone else on the street :)

This lady opened her door WITH her dogs. Hannah found a friend for life! She just walked right in and sat on her lap!! :)

We ran into John (neighbor) at this house too!

The girls made out like bandits! TONS of candy!!

Can you believe it is that time already? We had our annual visit to the pumpkin patch! This year we made a return visit to Thies Farm. It makes for a wonderful family outing! Parking is free! :)

We met our great friends Chris and Kelly there.

The kids were all so excited to see each other. We chose to sit down and have some lunch before entering the play area. This year we tried the bbq chicken sandwich. It was pretty yummy!

The kids had hot dogs and chips :)

Next we headed over to the play area

The kids all had tons of fun here! They all took turns on the tractors. For whatever reason they love pushing each other! This is Hannah and Caden.

Abby paused for a moment so I could catch a smile!

She really was happy… I promise! She just wouldn’t look at me and be happy…

Hannah wore her new skirt and her cute new jack-o-lantern jacket!

This is the best I could get of them together.

The entire gang. Now the story behind this picture (EVERY year) is — C and J do not want to pose for this. I get it… the kids are crawling on us. At least one of them is very mad about being contained. The tallest one decided she wasn’t going to look at the camera. The wind is blowing. Other people are waiting to sit in the same spot to take their own picture. AND to top it all off you have to find someone to actually take the picture for you. But, I love the picture. Every year, no matter what everyone is doing or how frazzeled we look… it is great to look back at this particular picture :)

The kids. Maddie (4), Hannah (1.5), Abby (3.5), Caden (almost 2)

Feger Family. Notice I have the “keep your hands out of your face” hold on Abby.

There was a big corral filled with hay for the kids to play in. This photo caught the exact moment that Caden put Abby in her place! Well, okay, what really happened was Abby was running around crazy and once Caden jumped in the ring he started running crazy and they smacked right into each other. Caden won :)

Abby got her moment though. This appears to be big sister helping little sister not fall into the corral. But what was really happening is Abby was throwing Hannah in! She bounced off of her face and popped right up. This made Kelly laugh! I watched it all happening and all I could think was, “I gotta get this on camera!” LOL

Abby did the maze.

Abby loved riding on the tire horse. Hannah wasn’t so into it :)

Abby giving us another great smile!

Abby did the big slide! She wanted to do the “one where they give you the makin” She was calling the potato sack a napkin :)

Then you can visit the store. The store has all kinds of jams and jellies and butters and produce! We grabbed some puffed corn and a couple pumpkins and headed out.

It was a great day!!

Well, there are many things I’m teaching my girls. One of the biggest ones is it is okay to pay $4 for a cup of foo foo coffee if the people make you smile and the atmosphere is nice :) So, here we are at an outing with those crazy friends we have :)

All the kids were there!

Abby and Hannah. Hannah is saying, “Hiiii”

Maddie and Caden.

I love that my friend loves my kid even when she doesn’t know I’m taking a picture :)

But then I thought I’d get her attention…

This is Abby’s smile lately. I think I remember Miss Kailey having a great posed smile for a while too. Thankfully I think this works itself out over time :P

Three of them before we left.

We went to the zoo with Kelly, Maddie and Caden. It was a perfect day! We had so much fun!!

We decided to ride the train first. Here are three of them waiting for the train.

It really is hard getting 4 kids under 4 to all look in the same direction :) At least Kelly listens :)

This chimp seems to be saying, ‘what is going on with this kid?’

The stingray exhibit is at the zoo right now. We used my zoo membership and it only cost $1.50 each. Abby loved it!!!

Kelly actually touched one! Yay Kelly!!!

We went to the sea lion show! The girls liked it for about 4 minutes :) They may need another year or two before they can actually sit and enjoy it – not quite enough action :)

Abby stopped to see the fish swimming with the hippos.

Surprise! Here comes a hippo!!

The rhinos were out!

We decided to run through The River’s Edge and see if the Elephants where out. This is about where we lost Hannah.

But the elephants WERE out! :) Yipee! Even the baby was out today!

Kelly wanted to stop in the gift shop so I got each girl a stingray.

Four tired kids and a wonderful day!

Well, I was just thinking the other day – there are so many things our girls have already done that I didn’t do till later in life. Starbucks, Steak N Shake, seeing the Arch — just a few that come to mind :P … But then again, they haven’t been fishing or tooling around in a canoe or john boat either :) Anyway, today they added another to the list. We tackled Six Flags!! Our friend Michelle invited us to go and we had a blast! Kelly went too! Caden and Maddie weren’t able to make this trip :( Hopefully they can come next time!

As soon as we pulled into the parking lot Abby started yelling about the GIGANTIC FERRIS WHEEL!!! I told her we would do everything we could to get a ride on that BIG RIDE!! :)

This is Abby waiting in her very first “thrill ride” line. You may notice that the gate is directly in front of her. Not a real WAIT if you ask me!

Abby picked the Hot Air Balloons as her first ride. She wanted the blue one. As we were getting in the seat a little girl ran over to ride with us. Abby was scared though and just wanted to ride with me – so she gave up that seat and ran to find another blue balloon. I apologized to the little girl and explained that this was Abby’s first time :(

Up and down and around and around! Abby had a great big smile most of the ride. Towards the end though, she asked if we could stop spinning.

She picked the Train as her next ride. Michelle took her for a spin on this one.

Here they come!

We finally made it to the “GIGANTIC” Ferris Wheel.

Michelle and Kelly took this time to catch up on some texting and emails :)

We found a couple characters today!

We headed over to Hurricane Harbor for the rest of the day. We played in the kid area (until someone pooped in the pool) :( And we spent time in the big wave pool.

I applied and reapplied sunblock to the girls numerous times. Unfortunately, I forgot to take care of myself in the same way :/

Both girls had tons of fun. Hannah loved laying on her back and kicking her feet. Abby played on the small water slides and bounced in the waves. We didn’t have the camera out while we were playing… but we posed for a couple shots right before we left. Don’t worry. Hannah had a life vest on the entire day. We just hopped back in the pool to grab these shots :)

Michelle and I decided early on that we wouldn’t be able to leave the park without an ice cream cone. Abby totally agreed!

Hannah had some other things to take care of. She did really good the entire day. But we finally lost her around 3:30.

We had a GREAT day! So much fun! Thank you Michelle for inviting us!!
