I’m sick people! I didn’t bake myself a cake. Abby was quite worried about this :/ Soooo, I had to get creative!!

We have a friend that just came home from the hospital. She has a husband a few kids. They really missed their mommy/wife. I decided to take them something to eat. Lynn helped me decide on a homemade chicken pot pie. Mom mentioned a salad would be nice. Then I decided to throw in some chocolate chip cookies. The girls and I really enjoyed the day together in the kitchen. And our friends really enjoyed their supper
I started around noon with some fresh chicken stock. It made the house smell wonderful! I used some carrots, onions, peppercorns, garlic, celery, sage, rosemary, thyme and parsley.
Add in a couple gallons of water and a whole chicken. Mmmm!!!

The Castaway is where we were getting the delicious chicken strips. You can eat inside, outside or just take it back to your room. There was also a pizza hut right beside the Castaway. In the outside pics you might be able to see the grills beside the tables and umbrellas. We had fridges in our room. Grilling would have been great!! They had many beautiful Palm and Magnolia Trees. Of course the pool was closed for cleaning when I went to take pics :/ We never got in. It was heated. And people were swimming. We just never got around to it. There was a super long hallway on the way to breakfast. We gave the kids permission to run as fast as they could when it was empty. They thought that was a treat
