There are many reasons people like to go “home”. The familiarity of EVERYTHING. Always knowing where you are. Always knowing someone no matter where you are. Mom. Dad. Grandparents. FAMILY. The friends that come out of the woodwork when they hear you are in town. The family you haven’t seen in over a year – that treat you like you were just there yesterday. It is so nice to just be welcomed and feel loved with no worries. But then there is this one other thing. This spectacular piece that I don’t often get to experience. Well I got the week right on my calendar THIS time. I just happened to be around when the produce man stopped by! Grandma and Grandpa Mifflin knew we were there… and they saved some great things for me! Mainly tomatoes. I LOVE tomatoes. Thank you!!

We met Maddie and all of her family and friends in Forest Park this morning to celebrate HER and what a blessing she is in all of our lives! We are fortunate to know her very well — but even people that have only met her once can quickly see what an exceptional little girl she is. Step Up for Down Syndrome is the DSAGSL’s largest awareness event. It is always such a moving day! It seems to get bigger and bigger every year! This year, not only was it moving… it was HOT. REALLY HOT! So please excuse the sweat running off of our faces and drenching our clothes!! LOL We had a great morning! Enjoy the pictures! We love you Madison! Chris and Jamey grabbed us all some hot dogs. I told them to smile. One of them said to the other, “it’s a 110 degrees outside and she just asked us to smile” LOL
