Perks

By Meagan Uncategorized 2 Comments »

There are many reasons people like to go “home”. The familiarity of EVERYTHING. Always knowing where you are. Always knowing someone no matter where you are. Mom. Dad. Grandparents. FAMILY. The friends that come out of the woodwork when they hear you are in town. The family you haven’t seen in over a year – that treat you like you were just there yesterday. It is so nice to just be welcomed and feel loved with no worries. But then there is this one other thing. This spectacular piece that I don’t often get to experience. Well I got the week right on my calendar THIS time. I just happened to be around when the produce man stopped by! Grandma and Grandpa Mifflin knew we were there… and they saved some great things for me! Mainly tomatoes. I LOVE tomatoes. Thank you!!

So, Jamey grilled some hamburgers. Ah! Perfect!!

And I made some salsa! Yummy!!

We’re back!

By Meagan Uncategorized No Comments »

We’ve been out of town for over a week! Jamey had to travel so I took the girls home so I could get some much needed time with family and friends. The Feger’s were here before that – so we were having fun out at the campgrounds for a few days! Needless to say I am very far behind with the blog! I have about three weeks worth of stuff to post. :P I’ll try to start today while I’m dealing with this mountain of laundry ;)

Swimming

By Meagan Uncategorized 4 Comments »

Mom and Dad are having a big party on the 4th. AND the newest Twilight Movie is out — soooo, the girls and I came home for the week :) The girls love the pool! The deck is coming along great. Mom picked up another umbrella last night, so we have plenty of shade today!

Abby swore she needed some goggles. So I bought them the best 2 pair $1.25 could get me :) They actually have nicer ones back in stl that I didn’t bring :/

Enjoy your day! We are!!

Slip N Slide: Take 2

By Meagan Uncategorized 5 Comments »

Well, Daddy came  home. He just couldn’t believe I didn’t TEACH the girls to slide! So he came out to give it a shot. He put them on their bellies and gave them a tug and down they went!

But they still weren’t quite getting it :/ This is the part where I have to tell you about the AWESOME man that I married. Yes, yes. He did it! He changed his clothes, came back out, threw caution (and his 30+ year old body) to the wind. And dove!!!!!

Some day, many MANY years from now. When the girls look back through their pictures. I hope this is how they remember their daddy. He would do just anything for them. And he had a BLAST doing it! What an great daddy!!!

Unfortunately, after all of that, they still didn’t really get it. Abby got a bit better – but I think having daddy throw you down the slip n slide is just much more fun :)

And sometimes – it’s just kinda fun to play in the pool with Buzz and Woody!

Hannah got an inchworm for her bday from the Feger’s. She was trying it out before we left :)

We had a great time seeing everyone! Even Katie was home from school. We just needed to see Kelli and it could have been perfect!

Who’s kids are these anyway???

Abby is really into marigolds this year. She commented to Annette that she didn’t have the orange ones like hers, only the yellow. Annette sent us home with some orange seeds. Abby got right to planting as soon as she woke up the next day :)

Slippin’ and a Slidin’

By Meagan Uncategorized 1 Comment »

I noticed a Toy Story slip n slide in the Aldi flyer. We went today for a few groceries and I saw one! We put it out as soon as we got home. The girls played for an hour and never figured it out! I kept showing Abby the pictures on the box. I’m still a bit under the weather (and nearly 35) so I wasn’t about to show her how to do it! :P I got a couple good pictures even if they didn’t have perfect form :)

Notice her mustache? :)

Crawling on your knees approach…

Army crawl approach…

Now this pic makes it look like she did it correctly :)

Sometimes the pool at the end was just much more fun than trying to figure out the whole run/slide thing.

She found a worm – AND PICKED IT UP! Proud Mom :)

Family Picnic at School

By Meagan Uncategorized No Comments »

Well, rained out :( We were still invited to bring some snacks and hang out in the classroom for a while. I think Abby liked having us there. I love this school. I will be sad to go :(

Hannah was pretty excited to go to school with Abby

Daddy came too!

Hannah enjoying a pretzel.

Looking around the classroom. A little chaotic today :)

Snack Time!

Telling Daddy about the classroom pets.

Pets :)

So THIS is why the markers never dry out! Excellent idea!

Building a little bit. She seemed a little timid with all of the parents there. Usually she jumps right in and starts an activity. Not so much today.

Hannah obviously felt quite at home :/

Miss Mamta

Miss Mary

Mommy :)

Abby was showing Hannah her cubby when we were packing up to leave.

It was a fun day. When I noticed Abby’s name tag in her cubby to take home, it made me realize the year was almost over. I did get a little sad. This has been a great school for Abby. She has loved going since the very first day!

Gardening

By Meagan Uncategorized 1 Comment »

Abby brought home a green bean plant from school. She was so excited. But then, at the hands of her sister, it suffered a horrible fate :( So today we decided to buy some green bean seeds and try again. Grandma Mac also got the girls some gardening kits. We got those out too! The girls had a blast!

We have our gloves on!

Abby replacing her green bean from school.

Getting ready to make some dirt. The kit came with big pellets that you “just add water” :)

Hannah found the Green Pepper seeds.

Abby planting her seeds.

She was pretty excited.

Hannah was more going, “moooooo”. ????

Then we made markers for each cup. Abby used Cookie Monster (he’s blue) to mark her beans. Hannah used little pepper stickers.

Mission Completed!

On the plane

By Meagan Uncategorized No Comments »

I tried suckers and drinks from sippy cups to help the girls pop their ears. Coming home they had stuffy/runny noses so that was especially exciting :P Hannah was a bit rougher on the flight home. We left a little later in the day. Right about nap time actually :/ We got to see the Gulf for a bit. That was fun!
