One of the things Laura taught me was always travel with some quarters and pennies. The kids love making the pressed coins after each event at Sea World. We bought Abby this little coin wallet.
So our very first day at SeaWorld Abby noticed a girl with a HUGE blue lollipop. She wanted one soooo badly! So much that she told me we needed to go find that girl and ask her where she got it
Fortunatly Laura spotted some much smaller ones in the grocery store today. We gave them to Ian and Abby right after lunch. They were very happy
This morning Laura asked if I had heard the news!! The whales would be out today!! It was raining – but we figured we were going to get wet anyway
We couldn’t get out of the hotel fast enough. We were literaly running through SeaWorld to make it to the show on time. It just feels like our SeaWorld experience is complete. Jamey and Matt were able to join us today!! We had fantastic seats in the splash zone! It was so very emotional to see the trainers. We noticed one smiling through her tears. They did a beautiful slideshow of the trainer that had died earlier in the week. Between seeing the massive, beautiful whales and the incredible, emotional, brave trainers I just couldn’t stop crying. I was in awe when every trainer stood on the side of the pool and dove in!! It just took my breath away. They swam across the tank and jumped out right in front of us. Seeing THIS show was such a perfect ending
This is the children themed area of the park. Ian really wanted to ride the roller coaster so the girls and I sat down with some pretzel goldfish and a drink. See how useful that tablecloth is
? Without it those fish would have fallen right through the table! Once Ian and Laura returned we went to race some boats and cars. Then it was in to the once thing Abby really wanted. The carosel!
Holy Cow!! Dolphins, Parrots, Vulchers, Divers and Acrobats!!!! I was so sad Jamey wasn’t with us. It was incredible to see – and even more awesome to watch the girls watch the show. I couldn’t even begin to count the ooos and aahhs. At one point Abby turned to me and said, “Isn’t this so much fun Mommy?” Laura suggested we sit in the splash zone. I thought it was a great idea! We all got a little wet – but we laughed and smiled so much!! Once again I kept my phone put away during the show. I do have more pics on our camera.
No no. It wasn’t the Funky Chicken but it WAS the Funky Monkey Wine Co. And it was super!! We didn’t leave for dinner until nearly 10. It was quite difficult to find a place to feed us that late on a Thursday :/ We really wanted something that we couldn’t get at home. We found a Bahama Breeze. We found a Magiano’s. We found a Denny’s… Then, out of the corner of our eye, we caught the word SUSHI. Hrm. Close to the ocean. Why not? We were just wearing jeans and when we walked up to the door we could see black table clothes, candles and lots of sparkeling glasses. We risked it!! It was a great risk!!!! They let us in and we had an awesome dinner!! We started with some seared ahi tuna. It was good. But I don’t know if it was my favorite of all time
But then we had a fried goat cheese that we spread on some croutons and topped with a sundried tomato jam. OMG. YES OMG!!! it was that good. Our waitress reccomended it and I was thankful!!! I had a reisling with the appetizers that I let the waitress choose as well. Then we picked a sake to have with our sushi. I had never had sake before. It was really potent. It tasted much lighter than water. I felt like I got the full flavor after I swallowed. The first little glass was rough. But I did notice the more I drank the less I could feel my face errr, I mean, the more I could appreciate the flavor and not be so overwhelmed with the alcohol content.
We had the waitress also choose her three favorite rolls for us. They were so delicious!! We had a great time and I am so excited we decided to risk it and just walk in to a new place! Thank you Matt and Laura for keeping an eye on the girls! Jamey and I loved our time together!!
We took the kids to the playground while we waited for the dads to get home from work. Then we grabbed some supper at the grill. We have fed the kids and now Jamey and I are heading out for an adult meal!!! Matt and Laura are keeping all of the kids!! Woo hoo! Don’t worry – we’ll return the favor tomorrow night
