I have kept most of Abby’s assignments/artwork from school. The problem is I have MANY bags collected so far :/ So, I think what I will do  - is each day she brings home something, I’ll take a picture and post it here. Then you get to see it. It is saved forever. And it won’t take up space in my closet ;) Enjoy!

This is K classroom work.

After she does the worksheet, she usually flips it over and gives the letter a shot on the back.

Oh a Lucky Leprechaun!

Abby has her “Feast Day” at school today. They have been working on their wardrobe for the last week or so. Today she let Hannah borrow the Pilgrim hat so I could get a picture.

Please have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! Be with the people you love doing the things you love! Start traditions, continue traditions and make some awesome memories! Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Abby: Sometimes when I’m riding the bicycle at school I stop and think.

Me: What do you think about?

Abby: You know, fire trucks, hawks and water fountains.

You Know! :)

I know I’m quite a bit late on this one – but I thought you might still like to see the pics :)

Daddy wanted to wish Abby good luck! Skype to the rescue!

She was really excited before drop off.

I wasn’t sure how I would like the drop off method. At her last school I walked her in every day. However, today, when we got to school and it was raining – I LOVED the drop off method. They met us at the car with umbrellas and Abby walked right in. Hannah and I stayed nice and dry in the car.

Hannah wasn’t nearly as excited for Abby :(

I decorated this house for Abby to take to school. It was supposed to help her describe some of the things we do together as a family.

This was the feedback from Mrs. Merseal, Abby’s teacher, on Abby’s first day.

Well, rained out :( We were still invited to bring some snacks and hang out in the classroom for a while. I think Abby liked having us there. I love this school. I will be sad to go :(

Hannah was pretty excited to go to school with Abby

Daddy came too!

Hannah enjoying a pretzel.

Looking around the classroom. A little chaotic today :)

Snack Time!

Telling Daddy about the classroom pets.

Pets :)

So THIS is why the markers never dry out! Excellent idea!

Building a little bit. She seemed a little timid with all of the parents there. Usually she jumps right in and starts an activity. Not so much today.

Hannah obviously felt quite at home :/

Abby was showing Hannah her cubby when we were packing up to leave.

It was a fun day. When I noticed Abby’s name tag in her cubby to take home, it made me realize the year was almost over. I did get a little sad. This has been a great school for Abby. She has loved going since the very first day!

Well, Abby’s first year of school is almost over. All of the end of school activities are taking place. Unfortunately, Water Day got rained out :(  But Messy Art Day was a GO!!! Jamey was able to work from home and keep Hannah — so I was able to go up to the school and help with this very fun/messy day!

The kids were able to squish their feet in paint and walk across a long black paper making foot prints. They also played in colored shaving cream and with spray bottles filled with watery paint. They used fly swatters and plungers to make designs on paper with paint. And finally they got to drive little cars through some paint and then roll them around on the art paper to see the designs the tires made. So much fun!!! Most of the kids there had huge smiles on their faces the whole time.

Since I was a helper that day – I didn’t think it would be fair to whip out my camera and start taking pics of MY kid. I did get some fun ones when we go home though. Ever wonder what Abby would look like with freckles? :)

Hannah liked watching us take pics too :)

Abby brought home a green bean plant from school. She was so excited. But then, at the hands of her sister, it suffered a horrible fate :( So today we decided to buy some green bean seeds and try again. Grandma Mac also got the girls some gardening kits. We got those out too! The girls had a blast!

We have our gloves on!

Abby replacing her green bean from school.

Getting ready to make some dirt. The kit came with big pellets that you “just add water” :)

Hannah found the Green Pepper seeds.

She was pretty excited.

Hannah was more going, “moooooo”. ????

Then we made markers for each cup. Abby used Cookie Monster (he’s blue) to mark her beans. Hannah used little pepper stickers.

Mission Completed!

The Parkway School District participated in “Hats On Day for kids fighting cancer”. Abby wore her pink Old Navy hat. She donated 50 cents and is super excited about getting a sticker today! — Hannah stepped out to wave bye bye as Jamey and Abby were leaving.

Abby was at school. Hannah and I ran to the grocery store. The nice man in the deli gave Hannah a cookie. A CHOCOLATE COOKIE!! :)

We picked Abby up from school and decided we needed some shakes. We enjoyed them as we took a drive through Lone Elk Park.
