We met Maddie and all of her family and friends in Forest Park this morning to celebrate HER and what a blessing she is in all of our lives! We are fortunate to know her very well — but even people that have only met her once can quickly see what an exceptional little girl she is. Step Up for Down Syndrome is the DSAGSL’s largest awareness event. It is always such a moving day! It seems to get bigger and bigger every year! This year, not only was it moving… it was HOT. REALLY HOT! So please excuse the sweat running off of our faces and drenching our clothes!! LOL We had a great morning! Enjoy the pictures! We love you Madison! Thank you for including us in your day!!

Now this is love!

Hannah tie dyed her shirt with a popsicle!

Chris and Jamey grabbed us all some hot dogs. I told them to smile. One of them said to the other, “it’s a 110 degrees outside and she just asked us to smile” LOL

Abby jumped in for a quick pic with Kelly

Awww, Is this gonna be trouble or what!?!

And Hannah wanted some Kelly time too!

Want to see all of the pictures? Let’s see if this works! :)

I miss you. We’ve bought a new house and I’m so sad that you don’t get to see it. One step!! Only one step and you would be right inside. I often find myself thinking I should call to tell you about the changes we are making – but you aren’t here to call. It seems the list of numbers I usually call for holidays and big events is getting smaller and smaller. I know I’m so fortunate to have had you in my life for so long. But it just really makes it quite difficult for me now. I’ve had a hundred reasons I’ve needed to call you.

We’ve had some pretty bad weather lately and I miss your calls.  You always called to check on me, every single storm. Just so you know, I’m doing okay. We can hear the tornado siren from inside our house. I’ll know to go to the basement. But I still miss your call.

We have a really big flat yard that the girls love. I finally used the money you gave them to buy a swing set. Well, you bought a portion of the swing set. :) You would love it! It is HUGE. They will be able to climb and slide and swing SO high!! Adults can even swing on it. I so wish you could have played with them on it just once. I have the greatest memories of you taking me to the park in Du Quoin. I loved those times.

You are an incredible man. I miss you so much. I love you.
