Surgery Postponed

Blood test results are in! His creatinine  dropped. It only dropped one point to 6.0 – but it dropped. All of his nutition values looked okay. This delay allows me to bring the girls home on Thursday and Jamey can spend time with them before surgery. It is possible that surgery could be next week. But we are thrilled to have a moment to breathe and make decisions with a clear head instead of feeling so rushed. He will continue to have blood tests a couple times a week that will help his doctors know exactly when to schedule this surgery. IF his creatinine can keep dropping, this surgery can continue to be pushed back. We might get a week – we might get 4 months. His doctor did remind us that dialysis and transplant are still in our near future – but we are so thankful for this moment.

Our next appointments are on January 5th, 7th, and 13th. We will receive the dialysis, nutrition, and transplant education that we were having to rush past this week.

Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

So happy to hear that you are at least getting a bit of a reprieve to catch your breath and be with the girls. Keep the good news coming!!
